sow social

your campus, actually social.

Students only. Things to do, people to meet, and games to play. Opening at Berkeley first.

why we're doing this

  • 70%less time with friends for people our age than 20 years ago.1
  • 5 hrsa day on social media for the average teen. nearly, anyway.2
  • 7%of time on Instagram goes to stuff from your friends. even Meta says so.3

college was supposed to fix this. it mostly doesn't. so we're building the third place back: same spots, same nights, new people every time, until strangers become regulars.

how it works

  • pick a night. one tap to RSVP.
  • coming solo? we put you in a crew of 3 to 6 who share something with you.
  • meet at a public spot first, then walk in together.
  • come back. same crew if you want. every night earns you a decal.

come alone. seriously.

most people at a sow night didn't know anyone when they showed up. that's the point.

the class rules

  1. students only. verified with your school email.
  2. crews meet in public. always.
  3. women-only crews if you want them.
  4. report and block, no questions asked.
  5. same cup for everyone. drink whatever you want.
  6. no filming you without your OK. grab a no-film sticker at the door.

  • we bring the crowd. students who signed up, RSVP'd, and checked in at the door.
  • you pick the night. tell us when it's quiet and we'll fill it.
  • you get the numbers. how many came, when, and how many came back.

questions in the margin

why do I need a .edu email?

Sow Social opens one campus at a time, and your school email puts you on the right one. It also means everyone you meet is actually a student there.

do i have to play?

nope. half the room is just hanging out.

can i come alone?

that's the point.

is this a school thing?

no. Sow Social is not affiliated with UC Berkeley.

how do I move up the list?

Share your invite link, find the daily spot in Bearings, and come to the events.

when does it open?

Berkeley gets it first. People on the waitlist hear before anyone else.
